Chess

Terminal Client

The chess CLI compiled to WebAssembly and drawn by xterm.js

You are on the onion mirror, which serves static pages only. The terminal client needs the chess API, so it only works at https://lixen.com.

Loading the client…

This client requires JavaScript and WebAssembly.

Start
Answering its prompts with h (White: human), c (Black: computer), 10, 1000, and Enter (standard start) opens a game as White against a level-10 engine with a one-second search budget.
Play
move e2e4 (promotion appends the piece: e7e8q), computer for the engine's reply, show for the board, undo, draw, resign, and pgn to export.
Backend
The same API the board on the project page uses. A game started here is visible there and vice versa.
First load
About 10 MB of WebAssembly, downloaded once; later visits revalidate it with a conditional request and reuse the cached copy until the client is rebuilt.
Requires
A modern browser with JavaScript and WebAssembly. WebGL2 draws the terminal when available; otherwise xterm.js falls back to its slower DOM renderer.
Keyboard
Click the terminal to type. Esc moves focus back out to the page, Ctrl+C cancels the current line.
